Travel Tips from people who've been to Katoomba
One of the most painfully touristy towns I've ever seen! Too bad, as the natural assets of the surrounding area are so beautiful and ruined with all the capitalization. The food is not that great and horribly overpriced, and the "Scenic World" is a complete waste of time because they cram way too many people into each "ride" and you therefore have no chance of enjoying yourself or even getting a decent picture. Stay in Sydney for an extra day instead. Good tip? (0) Go see the three sisters, the valleys are incredibly vast. And take a hike around the mountains. If possible, go there during a storm. It's the most beautiful sight I've EVER seen. In the whole world. The place has a huge alternative scene. All the people are goth or punk and it's really carefree and friendly there. Also, find the chocolate museum. That place was my downfall :D It was awesomeo!!! Good tip? (0) The World Heritage "Blue Mountains" along with the "3 Sisters rocks" are here and it's a national park for hiking as well. "Echo Point" is spectacular. You can see the outback -"bush" for miles and miles. The Aboriginal guy here is very nice and has great "Dream Time" stories. Good tip? (0) Recent Updates for Katoomba
