Emerald Travel Guide

not a good idea to go here by yourself ! very lonely and isolated. bring a supply of water and food - theres nothing atall. we were driving up to mission beach and was told about the mines and how you can find pricless gems ! we didnt find any emeralds but they do exist so keep your eyes peeled. its a place to camp and rough it - inbetween towns and great bush/ outback experience and kangaroo spotting ! not for the faint hearted ! you wont find telephones toilets or shops anywhere so be prepared ! becareful of the creeks - it might be a bit too inland for crocs but u never know, you could be washing with dangerous snakes and crocs are now being found in unusual places these days ! always ask people and locals ( if u see any !) about dangers. keep cars locked, valubles on you and always have a water bottle.  becareful of snakes and spiders in the bush and cruising yutes. dont bother with this unless your a real hardcore bush camper.

THE thing to do in Emerald, is to look for saphirs&Co. personnally, I have a lovely little collection... oh, nothing big and valuable, and it's cool to think YOU found them...
