If you go to magnetic island you go for one thing (okay maybe two): Reef Diving, and when you are on Magnetic Island, you are in the right place to see the amazing life under the see. There are enclosed bays for small children, of people who don;t want to take any risk meeting a shark, jelly fish or other creepy creatures.. Though jelly fish will be very rare to meet, and only in the summer and spring season (from about september to february). But for those who don't mind a little risk, and move farther out, you will encounter beautifully scenes. The most colerful fish an coral, and if you are lucky, turtouises are not rarely spotted at Magnetic island.
For transportation: There is a busline, but if you don't want to be tied to a roster, there are several small companies were you can hire buggy's or other small transportation vehicles for an acceptable price.
If you want a good experience, you have to take the earliest boat to, and the last bot from Magnetic Island. That way you have enough time to enjoy the reef, and a good lunch and dinner.
