  0265Seventeen Seventy, a small town on a narrow, hilly halfpeninsula above an estuary, was named to mark Captain Cook's landing at Bustard Bay on 24. May 1770. The main acess is from Miriam Vale on the Bruce HWY (a 60-km journey on a partly sealed road). There is also a secend acess from Berajondo on the Bruce HWY next to Bundaberg. Visitors will enjoy a beautifull view from Joseph Banks Natinal Park (take your camara with, it's a must) Good tip? (0)  01212When going to 1770 call ahead to Cool Bananas.Always booked up. Its a hostel and it is THE Best hostel that I have ever been to. A chillin guy named Greg runs it and is more then happy to help the backpacker out in any way. Had by far the best vibe of any place Ive ever been. I literally never wanted to leave. Good tip? (0)  053Wonderful place to stay. Cool Banana's is a really nice hostel with hammocks to lay in and only minutes from the beach. Also, it is the last place you can swim in the ocean if you are heading north from there (first place if you are heading south). Good tip? (0)
