Sorell serves as the main town for the surrounding farming regions from Orielton to Nugent and down to Lauderdale. The only reason to visit there is to pick up some food supplies on your way to Port Arthur (down south) or Orford (on the east coast). There is a nice market that is held at the RSL on the weekend where it is possible to pick up some nice bargains - but nothing special.
