Beechworth used to be the centre for the goldfields in the Ovens Valley, and is now a pretty and historic town. The Burke Museum tells about the history of the town, and its link with the goldfields. |

There are plenty of other museums and historic places of interest you can visit around the town including the Carriage Museum, Historic Courthouse and the MB Historic Cellars. A great way to see the historic sites is on the Beechworth Stagecoach or on the historic tour offered by Beechworth Bus Lines. |
