Burgenland State Travel Guide

To be honest, I don't know a thing about the actual town or village of Nickelsdorf. I do know Pannoia Fields, however, the huge area outside of town where the Nova Rock festival is held once a year in June. It's an enourmous, loud, and dirty metal festival. The line-up of 2007 included Linkin Park, Within Temptation, Lordi, Slayer, Pearl Jam, and a host of other big and small names. 2008 had the likes of Judas Priest, Motörhead, Die Ärzte and Rage Against the Machine. It's a three day event with two stages. You're encouraged to bring a tent or a trailer. Do not expect the showers to work and be aware that there is only one ATM for the several hundred thousand people who will attend. People will drink and sing all night. Neusiedl is a small city in Burgenland, Austria. You can visit the lovely lake of Neusiedl, wich is the biggest Stepp Lake of Middle Europe. You can go swimming and sailing there, but you can also just relax. The best, but alos very expensive, restaurant of Neusiedl is the Mole West at the lake. Nightlife is best on the mainstreet, called Hauptstraße. My Favourites are the Weinwerk, Bergwerk, the Checkpoint, Punki´s and Little Italy, which is a concentration of itlian restaurants and bars. There is also a very yummy ice-crema at Pizzeria San Marco. The best possibillty to go shopping is the McArthut Glen Designer Outlet in the nearly village Parndorf. You can reach Neusiedl on the Motorway A4, Exit 43.

Mole West in Neusiedl am See. Great view at the lake with an cool drink in the Bar or Restaurant. Food is average, looks better than it tastes. At the weekends the place is overcrowded, you have to make a reservation. Take a brunch at the weekend with a wonderful view at the lake.
