If you are travelling to Neunkirchen from Wien then I recommend taking the train from Wiener Neustad but there is a direct train between the two towns with one stop that is really close to a nice little country hotel.
Towns close to Neunkirchen that are really worth making a hike to just to see the wonderful views are for example Flatz, Raglitz and Ternitz.
If you are a horse lover then around these towns you might see lots of ICELANDIC horses but they are really populair in Austria and Germany.
