Among the lowest lying countries in the world, Bangladesh, situated in the Ganges-Brahmaputra River delta, is almost entirely surrounded by India. A major part of the coastline consists of marshy jungle, within which live a diverse array of plants and animals, including crocodiles, deer, and the royal Bengal tiger. The Sundarbans in particular, take up a large part of this region, and contains the largest mangrove forest in the world. Along the shore, the Cox Bazar is another popular destination. Running at an uninterrupted 120km in length, it is considered the longest unbroken natural beach in the world. Inland, the Mosque city of Bagerhat is an impressive sixty dome mosque that has been designated as a world heritage site. The ancient city of Paharpar, once inhabited by Mahayana Buddhists, and served as an important intellectual, cultural and learning center, and features distinctive Buddhist architecture. Elsewhere, Mahasthangarh, near Bogra, was the capital of various kingdoms established before the 6th century in one of the highest areas in Bangladesh. For those who want to sit back, relax, and enjoy an unforgettable experience while soaking in the local culture, a scenic boat ride along the backwaters of the Bangladeshi river passes 2000 year old villages, Maharaja palaces and the day to day lives of local villagers.

Travel Tips from people who've been to Bangladesh
The traffic is terrible, but the locals know how to get about. Use the rickshas whenever possbile - and remember to use your right hand when paying! The left hand is used for wiping the sh*t off your *ss, and is considered "unclean".

This may seem pretty funny, at first, but seriously, make sure you bring your own toilet paper. There are very few "American" styled toilets in Bangladesh, that I have found. And, no toilet paper what so ever. I managed to aquire a stomach virus from an entree of curried goat, and found out the hard way about the serious lack of  "TP" there.

Bring any old clothes or pencils/exercise books to donate to orphanages as the people are so poor - it's tragic. Try to visit the "Dhaka project", a charity set up by an amazing girl that works for Emirates.
