Welcome to Heusden-Zolder, little town near the border with Germany. If you like to know the history of the coal mines in this area of Belgium and the multicultural population that lives here, Heusden is a good place to stay and go around. Zolder is famous for its former Formule1-racetrack. Also, every year in July there's the International Night of Atletics in Heusden.

Beringen - the name of the town came from the words "bear" and "ring". The town has the bear with the ring in his nose also in the town emblem. The typical sign for the town used to be the coalmining.

Mijn Happening every 2nd weekend of September with music, street theater, fire works,... (13-14/09/2008). Besides the culture of the old mines, you can really enjoy an excellent show as well!
