Travel Tips from people who've been to Leuven

Leuven is a very multicultural student city. Best time to visit this city is between the end of september till begin decemeber and from begin february till the beginning og june, this is when the students are active(many parties,...)During this time there's a party every day on many different places, not too far away from eachother (average price:3euro) The middle of august there's also a festival. There's a youth hostel near the station. The first thing to visit is the old market, thereyou can party from dusk till dawn in the many bars, the bierkelder is one of the latest open places!Have fun

Leuven is a brilliant uni town. It has several squares that are lined with pubs, especially in the warm summers you will be able to drink & chat till the sun rises again! There are several nice musea and quite a few historical buildings to visit. Don't miss the Domus brewery, a need little micro brewery with a pub adjacent where you can sample their goods! Leuven is a very tourist friendly town with several good hotels and also nice cheaper options for budget travellers. Good connections to Brussels by train (30 min).

Leuven is famous for its nightlife, especially and in particular among the student population. The Oude Markt is the heart of the nightlife district -- here you can find all sorts of establishments to quench your thirst.. and have a good time, of course. The city has two movie theatres: the Kinepolis, just a few minutes from the station, and the Studios, which is smaller but also cheaper than the Kinepolis. Furthermore the city is known for its annual music festival, Marktrock, which usually takes place mid-August.
