Oostende has some great beaches, sun tanning, and swimming to offer travelers visiting Belgium. Place to catch the ferry from Belgium for the UK ... not much happening otherwise... nowadays, with the Eurostar, even this has limited appeal unless you're taking your car...

Niet voor niets de Koningin der badsteden! Terrasjes op het Wapenplein, uitwaaien op de brede wandeldijk, gezellige drukte in het shoppingcenter, volkse kraampjes op de Visserskaai, cultuur in Casino Kursaal, gastronomie in Bistro Mathilde of restaurant Savarin, van de kust doorheen het stadspark naar het museum...
