03211For eastern Belize, this is a great place to get back and recharge. There are all the facilities you may need from laundry and internet to french bakeries that serve pizza (I know, I didn't expect it either). You can get to an ATM here, but take your time. The booths air conditioned. There's a neat little outdoor market, but it stinks of fish so get there early in the day.

082Consider taking the public bus from Belize City to San Ignacio. It's pretty inexpensive, takes around 3 hours, and gives you the chance to interact more with local Belizeans! The jungle lodges nearby will happily pick you up from town (for a fee, of course).

003Belmopan is the capital of Belize and is mostly governmental. It is a good place to stop over while travelling, but I recommend San Ignacio as a base town if you want to do any sight seeing out west.
