Descend down to the jungles of Amazon in the North, or over in Santa Cruz, where you can visit the city it's self. The best time to visit Santa Cruz is during Carnival, in February every year, because the way people celebrate it in santa Cruz has no match anywhere else in the world ... FUN....FUN....FUN!!!!). If staying in Santa Cruz, you'll have the chance to visit South America's largest Water Park (Aqualand) or the "Mariposario" (Butterfly Natural Reserve). If you enjoy adventure, you can take one of the tours to any of the many National Parks in santa Cruz, spending the night in the jungle or in a resort surrounded by it. While in Santa Curz, you could go any (or all) of the Jesuit Missions, america's best preseved and Human historic Heritage by the United Nations. Of course, the best time to visit the Missions is dirung the International American Barroque and Renaicence Music Festival (april of every odd year) to delight yourself with the music played by the worlds greates musissians who wait for years to have the chance to come and play at this magic churches built during the 16th Century. Travel Tips from people who've been to Bolivia
Don't forget to take good shoes: there is no horizontal street in La Paz :) Good tip? (+2) La Paz, Bolivia is one of the most interesting cities to visit. It is not for the timid traveller, it is one of the highest elevated cities in the world and many that travel to La Paz suffer from altitude sickness. Mostly European tourist visit. Once you get adjusted, it is an amazing city. The "witch market" is a great place to visit. You can find all sorts of charms from brining good luck to your house to enhancing virility and fertility. The witches really do not care too much for tourists ogling their wares, as they do take their craft seriously. The food is outstanding. Mount Ilimani soup is one of my favorite dishes since it helps in combating the altitude, it is a nice broth with chicken, vegetables and some spicy peppers. Another common item you will find being sold on the street are coca leaves, the locals chew the leaves as part of custom but they also say that it helps to relieve the altitude sickness! You can also drink coca mate, a tea infused with coca leaves. In short, if you are looking for an adventure, a different experience, La Paz is a great place to go. Good tip? (+1) Oruro est une petite ville minière de 200 000hab. La ville est très connu pour son grand et magnifique carnaval.
