Travel Tips for Transportation in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Kotor-Varos, Bosnia and Herzegovina
try to avoid filling your tank in one of many gas stations, cause the fuel has a small quality..fill it before you even enter the country..

Neum, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Only city (village) on BIH's coast. Nice, but like typical rest of croatian coast. Still some scarves after war. You can swim in gulf and lay on rock beach. If you are going there from Mostar - go via Croatia. Road in mountines in BIH is really hard and slow. It will cost you lot of nerves and time (even if relatively is much shorter). But it is great adventure with good and thrilling views :) Some big hotels are there, as well as room for rent.

Neum, Bosnia and Herzegovina
This small Bosnian town is the only "sea-port" of the country, and it lies on a very narrow strip of Adriatic in an other-wise land-locked country. It's also on the main road from north-western Croatia and the south-western tip (where Dubrovnik is), so it's the probably the easiest, albeight a bit dodgy, way of checking Bosnia as visited!...

Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Was in Sarajevo in Summer 2008.
I went there with the bicycle. The traffic is dangerous and annoying, but the rest of the city is impressive!
At many places you can still see the hurts from the war, but the city is recovering. The historic center is very nice and intact, and the best is, nearly eveywhere you can have good and very cheap food like cevapi or kebap for 1.5€.

Accomodation is also very cheap, there is a hostel near the historic market where you can sleep for 10€ a night.

There is an Internation Airport, a train station (few trains...) and a bus station. The first place to go if you want to go to another city at the balkan should be the bus station. There are conncetions to ever important city from there.
The airport is about 20km from the city center, but taxis are very cheap (and an interessting experience...)
