Maun is your last place to shop and fill up on gas and water before you embark into the bush of Savuti, Moremi or the Okavango. A town which has exploded through tourism. Places to stay along the river are Crocodile Camp and Audi Camp to meet other travellers and swap tall stories at the bar. Most people are only overnighters however.

it was fun, plenty of wildelife and the people were Very friendly!!

Audi camp has cheap camping spots. nice people there.

great place, might take some getting used to be people just tend to let you do what you want but are friendly when you ask for help to get around

Unfortunatly there are at the moment white skinned people not really welcome :-( Take care and ask in local hotels where it is save to go and go out in groups!

(North Western Botswana) Tsodilo Hills: Sacred place for the San people. You find rockpaintings here dating thousands of years back. Really of the beaten track, you have tot travel some 70 K on a cow infested dirtroad and when it has rained walk the last bit if you don't travel by 4x4.

If you get a chance make a sunset river cruise from Kasane. The sight of elephants bathing in the river while the sunset will be one you'll never forget!

A good place to stay and have a drink is The old Bridge backpakkers.

get to the banks early, they do not queue, they push to get i n so you want to be near the front

Stay at Nata Lodge, outside of town - otherwise don't bother stopping [also watch out for pot holes!!!] There is an awesome Braai on Sat nites!!!!

Kang is basically a petrol station, with a hotel and camp site. a good stop on the way to the okovango or Namibia, the 'bus stop' is the bin on the corner!
