Planning a Trip to Botswana
Maun, Botswana If you are there you have to do a flight over the Okavango-Delta. It doesn't matter witch time of the year it is always amazing, haunting, the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good tip? (0) Kasane, Botswana A must see for new travelers to this part of Botswana. It was a true 180 from what I was used to but am thrilled to have experienced it!!! You get to encounter nature and the wild at its best. I've never seen animals so in their own habitat as here in Chobe Chilwero. Great private, unique yet upscale and accomodating. Beware of gigantic bugs in this part of the country though. I certainly wasn't expecting that. Hate bugs, but totally worth it, would do it a million more times!!!!!!!!!!! Good tip? (0) Mochudi, Kgatleng Region, Botswana Mochudi has a very nice (small) museum. It is also the home of Precious Ramotswe of the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency (check Alexander McCall Smith on the Internet). Good tip? (0) Maun, Botswana right across from Nando's is a great post office, stationary, souvenir, money exchance shop with great coffees! I cant remember the name, but you'll recognise it right away! Good tip? (0) Kasane, Botswana If you get a chance make a sunset river cruise from Kasane. The sight of elephants bathing in the river while the sunset will be one you'll never forget! Good tip? (+2) Maun, Botswana A good place to stay and have a drink is The old Bridge backpakkers. Good tip? (+2) Gaborone, South-East Region, Botswana get to the banks early, they do not queue, they push to get i n so you want to be near the front Good tip? (+1) Nata, Botswana Stay at Nata Lodge, outside of town - otherwise don't bother stopping [also watch out for pot holes!!!]
There is an awesome Braai on Sat nites!!!! Good tip? (+1) Kang, Botswana Kang is basically a petrol station, with a hotel and camp site. a good stop on the way to the okovango or Namibia, the 'bus stop' is the bin on the corner! Good tip? (0) Bradt Travel Guides |
