Considered one of the most remote islands on the planet, Bouvet is a Norwegian administered sub-antarctic volcanic island in the South Atlantic Ocean south of Cape Code in Africa. This glacier-covered land features an ice filled crater with an inactive volcano – Wilhelm II Plateau. Once a whaling station, the island is now designated a nature reserve.
