Travel Tips from people who've been to Northeastern Brazil
Try eating "Tapioca" and "Alto da Sé" Good tip? (+2) Ciudad muy bonita. Recomiendo el carnaval de Olinda y la playa de Boa Viagem. Good tip? (+1) Light clothes: flip-flops, t-shirts, sun glasses, sunscreen lotion, bermuda, cap, swimming trunks... don't forget that it's very important to bring light-colored clothes, cause dark ones will make you sweat a lot. It's a place with a lot of wonderful beaches and places to eat ( at day or night). So, always go to this places with the stuffs you need for swimming and for bath. But pay attetion to your backpack... never take your eyes off it when you're not holding it!!! Most of beaches have corals protecting the shore from animals like sharks... But don't go too far from the shore anyway... there's a few cases of shark attack sometimes... A region map is very important too... cause streets can get very confusing in some places... Always walk in big streets with few people... It's very important to never walk alone, hide your camera, cellphone and others expensive stuff... Pay attention when you are on taxi... they will try to make you pay more (and it can get really expensive)... so, if u have experience in places like this and courage to it, take a bus (not saying that anyone can take it, cause it's really complicated and annoying. It's crowded, and it will take confusing streets, so will be very hard to find your way back to hotel, since you can't trust in anyone on the streets...but bus is cheap and can take you anywhere) Remember that here don't have metro... so you can't come here thinking that you gonna find a subway that takes you anywhere... the only way is by bus. Here goes an important tip... I guess the most important... If you get lost, or have to talk with locals, pay attetion to who you talk... With you really have to talk with someone, seek someone older, good clothes, seek someone with backpack (this is a good one)... someone that seems to have a good job or something like that... First, people here don't speak english, just a few... But second, and the most important, if you find the wrong person to talk, this guy will make you go to a place that you don't want and stole you... At last, ask people inside big restaurants... I guess it's the safest place to talk to people... Slowly you will see that it's not hard to do it... and the best, you will never get afraid of stealing you in any part of the world... This tips are not to use just here, but to use it in all your travels... So it wont be a nightmare anymore ^^ Good tip? (0)
