About Brazil Planning a Trip to Brazil
Florianopolis, Southern Brazil, Brazil Florianópolis is a Beautiful island, linked to the cost by a bridge. This is my home town and it is impossible not like it. I just love this city. Summer time is the best and busiest time to visit it. That because the main atraction are the 100 beaches around. And the 3 laguns in the meddle. Mainly time between Christmans and New Year. It means if u want to stay in the crowd, party and meet a lot of people from all brasil and world... My favorite beaches are Praia Mole, Jurerê Internacional and Praia Brava. It's plenty of beautiful, fit and tan people. There's some beaches like Lagoinha do Leste and Nalfragados that u need to take a boat or do a path to get there, this places u can camping and enjoy the nature. Of course, nowadays u have to be careful everywhere, then is bether to stay by the camping. There's places like Lagoa da Conceição and Ribeirao da Ilha where u can apreciate the native portuguese architecture and very good sea food (u can't miss: pirão de peixe, ostras - the best osters in the country - rodizio de camarão, camarão na abobora). The best places to stay are by the beach, where u can find international hotels or local hostels and void the traffic to get by the sea. Or even rent a house for few weeks. A good choise would be Lagoa da Conceição, where u can go by feet to 3 beaches, and sandboard in the dunes and enjoy the lagun. Some thing that u can't miss is jumping with parashots from the Praia Mole Hill and do some ecological tracking. I think is that. Good travel. Good tip? (0) Diamantina, Southeastern Brazil, Brazil diamantina is a beautiful small city, best spend some time on the weekend when the horse market takes place. you'll experience some real roots forró - and good cachaca is flowing! Good tip? (0) Curitiba, Southern Brazil, Brazil A good alternative for the hostels near the railway station, is hotel Aruba Av Visc Guarapuava 1960 Curitiba, 80000000, Brazil +55 41 3363-5872 the room rates are very low, about EUR 5 for a double and it includes continental breakfast. The rooms are clean and functional andhave their own toilet and bathroom! Good tip? (0) Ilha de Marajo, Amazon Region, Brazil From Belem, take a boat to Ponto de Pedras but if you wanna go further from here, you need to speak Portuguese or be very patient. As the whole isle is a swamp with no roads, you'll have to take fisherboats, sometimes even jumping from one to another at river junctions. Take plenty of food, water, toilet paper and mosquito repellent and avoid the foreign priests and nuns as they think they own the place and don't welcome visitors. Good tip? (0) Belem, Amazon Region, Brazil I saw the biggest spider in a public toilet in the world in this city so watch out when you are in the loo lol Good tip? http://www.edificiojucati.com.br/ Good tip? (0) Salvador, Northeastern Brazil, Brazil Pelourinho: Once the central place where the slaves were being sold it has now become a touristic place. On the main plaza there is a BELGIAN internet café. Good tip? (0) Sao Paulo, Southeastern Brazil, Brazil Edifício Altino Arantes On the top of this tower, that is freely accessable, you will have a view over the whole city of Saõ Paulo. Very impressive! Bring a photo ID with you to have acces to the tower! You will find the building in the very center of São Paulo, in the Rua João Bricola 24 Good tip? (0) Sao Paulo, Southeastern Brazil, Brazil Search for the cities tallest building and make a point to go onto the sky deck around dawn and take some amazing photos of a extremly populated city!! Good tip? (0) Foz do Iguacu, Southern Brazil, Brazil Bring a protection for your photo camera video rec. against spraying water from the falls and carry always spare batteries with you because of the very high humidity they don t last as long as they do at home!!! Good tip? (0) Guarulhos, Southeastern Brazil, Brazil if you are north americam. for gods sake: bring a visa! Good tip? (0) Foz do Iguacu, Southern Brazil, Brazil Hostel Bambu is the way to go! The guys there are amazing. SOOO helpful!!! You need to allow a half day for the Brazilian side of the falls and a full day for the Argentine side. If visiting the Brazilian side on a short day trip you don't need to do customs or pay for a visa, but if visiting the Argentine side on a day trip you DO need to do customs. From Foz do Iguacu to Rio de Janeiro by bus is R$177 one way(about half that for dollar value.) That was as of mid-2007. They can book it at the hostel for you, they can even book your accomodation in another city for you from that hostel. As I said, the most helpful guys. Good tip? (0) Foz do Iguacu, Southern Brazil, Brazil If you wanna stay here to visit Iguzu Falls, you'd rather prefer staying in Puerto Iguazu, which is in Argentina, a few km away Foz. It is cheaper, more funny, there are more activities, and it is much nicer !!! Good tip? (0) Barra do Quarai, Southern Brazil, Brazil Just a long dirt street with hops on both sides and Arab vendors speaking Portuguese while drinking tea.
The Customs officer will just wave as you cross the border to buy whatever you want.
Good feijoada and Chicken al Espiedo Good tip? (0) Rio de Janeiro, Southeastern Brazil, Brazil Já lá fui 4 vezes e nunca tive problemas..Jóias, relógios e afins? Ficam no cofre do Hotel...VISA no bolso, algum dinheiro na roupa...e Rio, lá vou eu!!!! Good tip? (0) Sao Paulo, Southeastern Brazil, Brazil You need to eat Brigadiero...it's the best desert in the world. Good tip? (+5) Sao Paulo, Southeastern Brazil, Brazil Go to Rubayat Baby Beef for your best ever meat experience ! Good tip? (+2) Olinda, Northeastern Brazil, Brazil Try eating "Tapioca" and "Alto da Sé" Good tip? (+2) Rio de Janeiro, Southeastern Brazil, Brazil Rio is a city filled with just about everything desirable and undesirable in a city of its size. The people are beautiful, the beaches are beautiful and the food is excellent and CHEAP. The downside is that you really need to either stay in safe areas, or have some Brazilian friends if you really want to venture out. Luckily, I had met an exchange student in the U.S. before I travelled to Rio. Once I got there, he took me to all of the cool clubs, the best beaches that tourists don't know about, and restaurants off the beaten path. I never would have seen Rio this way if it was not for him! Good tip? (+1) Rio de Janeiro, Southeastern Brazil, Brazil Cidade Maravilhosa ! Nice beaches, great people and a lot of nature! Good tip?
