0206I've lived in Porto Alegre for a while and it's a great city! Very good for shopping and you should definitely visit the 'mercado publico'. Ask around for the best parties because there are lots and they really know how to party! Only minus: The city can be quite dirty though and in winter it can get pretty cold. (tip: bring some warm clothes!)

021If you're in Porto Alegre don't forget to go to Vale dos Vinhedos, where the brazilian people make wine ;-) .I don't know the exact distance, but I went there and I haven't found it far. One of the goods 'farms of wine' is 'Casa Valduga'. There is a really good restaurant there too.
