A grim border town, out on a limb with little to do. It will be your first or last impression of Bulgaria and as either will suck bigtime. Beware of taxi drivers overcharging for rides to the Turkish or Greek border. If you are stuck here, have a drink in the main square, people watch and thank your lucky stars you were not born here.
