Traveling with Children in Bulgaria
Varna, Black Sea Coast, Bulgaria
The Sea Garden is the oldest and perhaps largest park in town containing an open-air theatre (venue of the International Ballet Competition, opera performances and concerts), an aquarium (opened 1912), a dolphinarium (opened 1984), the Nicolaus Copernicus Observatory and Planetarium , the Museum of Natural History, a terrarium, a zoo, an alpineum, a children's amusement park, and other attractions. The National Revival Alley is decorated with bronze monuments to prominent Bulgarians, and the Cosmonauts' Alley contains trees planted by Yuri Gagarin and other Soviet cosmonauts in the 1960s. The Garden is a national monument of landscape architecture. Varna is also an important airport on the black sea!

Bulgaria Health
Rilski Manastir, Sofia & Surrounding Region, Bulgaria
This is one of the most beautiful Eastern Orthodox Monasteries you can think of, and is considered one of the top 5 attractions in Bulgaria. There are some risks however. Forget about sleeping there unless you have a tent and don't mind moving a couple of kilometers up in the mountain to pitch it. There is a hotel next to the monastery but it is the very symbol of misery, run by a gang of total jerks (sorry). You may get some small stomach problems if you deside to try the famous local combination of mekitsi and boza (the formar is food, the later is a drink). It is indeed an incredibly tasty thing byt the mekici are fried and if you have a sensitive stomach...

Dospat, Southern Bulgaria, Bulgaria
Nice place. The greatest attraction is the Dospat Dam which is 17 km in length and at places 3 km wide. It is surrounded by tall mountains. The bus connections are poor. No rail road. Hotels are small, family owned and cheap.

Blagoevgrad, Southern Bulgaria, Bulgaria
The best city on Earth that I've visited. Lived for five years there. Hot girls, low prices, nice clubs, relatively good infrastructure, good weather and a lot of things to do. It is especially nice during the spring and autumn. The city hosts several elite secondary schools, as well as, the largest university in Southwest Bulgaria and the only American university in Southeast Europe. Actually the students run the city.

Sozopol, Black Sea Coast, Bulgaria
Do not go to the main beach in Sozopol. Water smells and IS dirty. Fine restaurants around it though.
