Alberta People & Culture
Jasper, Alberta, Canada Great for just looking around for a couple of days. Not really for nature lovers or people who don't like to shop. Very cute and quaint though. Good tip? (0) Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Well, I can't tell you about public transport, accommodation or the city centre because I stayed with family of friends. But they dropped me off at the Edmonton Mall for the day.
It is HUGE. There are heaps of movie theatres (I lost count) including an IMax theatre or more. There is a large indoor wave pool with people surfing and everything. Gun and golf driving ranges. An aquarium with real live dolphin shows and a submarine to show you the other fish. Then there are mega amounts of shops that you would expect in a mall. Good tip? (0) Gleichen, Alberta, Canada Be careful if you do decide to come here. I had an old lady who was drunk on a sunday morning accusing me of being a cop then wanting to fight me. I didn't stay for too long, but from talking with some people, that doesn't sound to much like an isolated incident. Good tip? (0) Banff, Alberta, Canada Just a great place to hang out and meet people from all over the world. Very nice location Good tip? (0) High Level, Alberta, Canada I didn't like it here, its an ugly place, but for the most part the people are friendly Good tip? (0) Calgary, Alberta, Canada Calgary is home to the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. You can go year round to their concerta. One of the concerts I would suggest is the "Music from Video Games". Through the performance there are pictures from the featured games. Good tip? (0) Banff, Alberta, Canada Amazing Place! Great Hiking trails and almost unbearably beautiful! Good tip? (0) Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada This is not a cheap visit, but if you just go for the day and pack your own lunch you can go to the hotel and look a the shops or take a little hike and see the wildlife and the mountains without spending much at all. Good tip? (0) Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada Lake Louise village is really a small ski resort. If you're there in the summer instead then the campground is good and you can hire bikes for a nice trip up to the Lake itself. Just beware of the bears! Good tip? (0) Banff, Alberta, Canada Tunnel Mountain is a quick and amazing hike just outside of town! Bella vista. Good tip? (0) Drumheller, Alberta, Canada It's not just the museum here, there are a lot of sites in town to check out- like the giant trex and reptile world, there is a coal mine site and some settler histric sites as well. There is nowhere in town to eat though, so be prepared to hunt something down or pack a lunch. Good tip? (+1) Edmonton, Alberta, Canada A must is the West Edmonton Mall. It has attractions for everyone...water park, dolphin show, tide pools and penguins, ice rink, hotel, Imax theatre and many shops. Good tip? (+1) Pincher Creek, Alberta, Canada The wind is crazy. park into the wind or your car door might swing too far and bend Good tip? (0) Calgary, Alberta, Canada Calgary tower, Saddle Dome and C.O.P are great attractions. Good tip? (0) Airdrie, Alberta, Canada The Twin and Plainsman arenas, and One Eyed Jacks are great. Good tip? (0) Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Edmonton has one of the most beautiful buildings. It has the Alberta University and the Alberta government. When you visit Edmonton make sure you go to the "West Edmonton Mall" one of the biggest malls in Alberta Good tip? (0) |
