Few travelers choose to stop at Campbell River when traveling to Canada, and those that do usually only make a brief stop to see the Frank James Park. Other places in the area such as Tofino and Victoria may be more interesting to explore. Travel Tips from people who've been to Campbell River
Campbell River is an ideal mix of comfort and rugged; a quaint community right on the edge of British Columbia Wildreness with an abundance of art, both native and styles and mediums from around the world. Campbell River has long been known as the Salmon Capital of the world and 40-50 pounders are the norm. There are many fine local restaurants where you can get the next freshest Salmon you've ever had. The freshest, of course, is the one you catch yourself. Sayward Forest Canoe Route is 30 miles of beautiful lakes and rivers connected by a series of portage trails and the waters are filled with salmon and other fish. You should allow for at least 3 days to really enjoy the trip which begins on Campbell Lake. BC Forest Service publishes a detailed map of the route.  Most of the portages are very small but the surprise between Surprise and Brewster Lakes is the portage is 1.5 miles. There is also wonderful open water kayaking available with both whale and bear watching as an added bonus. If that’s a little more out there than you wish you can also go on a tour. Regardless, Campbell River is a wonderful destination.  Enjoy her, I did.

Ne pas oublier son ciré et sa clochette accrochée à la cheville, l'ours est très peu mélomane.
