Travel Tips from people who've been to St. John's
Awesome place! Who knew!
For all the aviators out there: I have been told that Halifax is better if you have to RON while you jump the pond, I haven’t seen Halifax. St John’s is very good though!
Folks at the airport are really helpful, if you can pick the Alpha Hotel (just an awesome place), great restaurants (fish, as you can imagine, is just fantastic). On the main drag there’s a good outdoors shop and good shops all around.
Night life: really not bad! Plenty of beautiful people around trying to have fun.
Enjoy! Good tip? (0) To see at Saint John's : * Signal Hill : An ancient coastal defense site where Guglielmo Marconi received the first transatlantic wireless message on December 1901. * Cape Spear : The most easterly point in North America (except Greenland). Good tip? (0) Read The Shipping News (Annie Proulx) and then hire a car and go and see the icebergs, the moose, the fishing villages. Stay in homely bed and breakfasts and eat lobster till it's coming out of your ears. Good tip? (0) Recent Updates for St. John's
