Located at the point where the Niagara River meets Lake Ontario, Niagara-On-the-Lake is a picturesque small town that was first established in 1781.  Many former military sites, such as Fort George, Navy Hall and Butler's Barracks are on site.

Today Niagara-on-the-Lake is a good hub for exploring some of the nearby Canadian wineries.  It is in this region that the world's largest volumes of icewine are made.

Within Niagara-on-the-Lake, a popular event is the annual Shaw Festival, a theatrical production featuring the works of Bernard Shaw.  The event runs from April to November.

Really nice place, but super expensive.  Honestly not sure it's worth the price - seems like your paying more for the fact that you're in Niagara On The Lake than anything else.
Good tip?

The falls are bueatiful on the canadian side, though you should remember to bring a rain jacket, because even if its a bueatiful day the mist sprays you from so far away! And dont forget the camera before you get there because you don't want to buy one there, they are way to expensive! The reason I loved the canadian side of the falls is unlike the american side you can look straight down where the falls start, and you are less than a foot away from the egde. So not so good for the one afraid of heights! :)

Niagra Falls is my favorite place to vist in Ontario. I have lost count of how many times I have been there. Sheraton On the falls is an amazing hotel to stay at it also has a casino in it. Maid of the Mist is really neat to go on you get up close and personal with the falls,. If you are visiting over new years, the fireworks display and concert is a must do! They also have a huge christmasd light display that is amazing. It is kinda pricey but well worth it to Visit Niagra falls, Ontario.
