Best Time to Visit Toronto
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Beerbistro is a must visit for anyone who loves beer with food. Too much time and effort has been spent on pairing wine with food, when what one really wants is a beer. At Beer Bistro, they use their pallets to choose which beers got best with each meal. An AMAZING selection of beers (and their Frites are great, too)! Their lunch menu is reasonably priced for those on a budget.

If you want to splurge on a meal in a nice restaurant in Toronto, watch for special events called Summelicious and Winterlicious. During these times the best restaurants all offer special fixed price menus at a substantial savings from normal dining costs. Great way to sample the best of Toronto.

The city is the safest place of the world, I guess. People are generally non-Canadian but friendly. The place I like most is Harbour Front because you can watch the lake, Toronto Island, sit on the grass, CN Tower at back and the tall shiny buildings at the same time. Sitting there is really relaxing. You can't find taxi whenever you want, if you find one, the driver might not know the roads. I myself directed the taxi driver even to the intersection of Yonge-Bloor. The intersection of Yonge and Bloor is not the best place to spend time. Dundas is better, more crowded, more activities, more shopping places. The subway stops in every 100 meters. So if you should go no more than 2 stations, walking is better. Because you spend all your time under ground and seing nothing.

For me, too cold and quiet city! There are couple of things you should visit..like CN Tower..but I had the best time visiting places that are close to Toronto. If you have a chance, you should visit Niagara Falls, and take a ride with the boat that goes really close to walls. It remindes me too much of west cities, which I don't like too much..

I stayed in Toronto for 3 months. When I arrived I stayed at the Canadiana Hostel. On of the best in all of Canada. My tips are to buy all eminities from either Chinatown, or Kensington Market.
In Chinatown there are a lot of cheap good deals, good bubble tea @Tea Shop 168 on both Spadina and Dundas St. Also Ten Ren has good bubble tea. My personal favorite is 168 on Spadiana as they have pool tables I like to watch the men play pool. 168 on Spadina is good sit down place for study or hanging out, also has Wii!
My three favorite restaurants are Kom jug Sum Restaurant further north on Spadina, you can get a good size plate for $4-6. Pho Pasteur just east on the Spadina//Dundas intersection, open 24 hours a day, favorite is the Goat Curry and Pho. Also Korean BBQ on Queen Street East it awesome for good buffet for $9.
I really enjoyed my stay there, the was a lot of homeless but they left you alone. Often the hostel had pub crawls, as well as club night on Thursday @Republic just north of Widmer Street, so literally around the corner. As well as The Fox and the Fiddle karaoke nights with the hostel has been called the night people hook up from the hostel and relationships are made there.... something is magical about that place when your staying at The Canadina.
The transportation is good but expensive, after going up from $2.50 when I arrived to $3. They have the TTC which has Subway, streetcars and bus's. I find this place to be the Canadian New York City from what I was told, very fast paced, and also going up to Yonge Street at night to see the lights which is very much like the NYC Times Square just off of Eaton Center.
Really enjoyed it, and cant wait to see again.

Toronto Internet & Communications

If you're looking for a place to stay in Downtown Toronto - don't stay at the Primrose Best Western on Carlton Street. It's dirty, the staff is unfriendly, the internet is very slow, the food is terrible; well, just don't stay here. I've been living in this Hotel from September '10 until April '11, and I very much regret my choice.

The Bata Shoe Museum is well worth the time and ticket price. Even for those who are not shoe lovers will enjoy this walk through history. This stop is filled with histrical shoe facts, preservation information, artwork (in shoe form), and of course shoes!

The loveliest way to discover Toronto is to rent a bike and take a tour along the riverside, through the villa lanes and the beautiful nature/parks around the city (especially in fall)

The view from the CN Tower is very good on a clear day. You can see far into the distance, although Toronto lacks features (mountains, etc...) that would make the view truly incredible.

It is a very interesting experience to be taken up that high via an elevator. The height feels a little too high to be real, although the glass floor is a bit nerve-racking. It is supposed to be safe enough to withstand an enormous amount of weight, but there is always that little bit of doubt!
