At 14km long this is the longest freshwater beach in the world. From May-September it is a haven for those seeking surf and sand in southern Ontario as it is only 2 hours from Toronto, on the shores of Georgian Bay. The beach is actually split into 6 main beaches. Peak time in July and August gets very crowded at the downtown beach areas.

Travel Tips from people who've been to Wasaga Beach
This is a perfect place for people who want to go to a tropical resort, but don't have lots of money. This is the best place just to realx and kick off your shoes. You can launge on the beach or one of the local restaurants close to the beach. The food is priced pretty reasonably and locals are very friendly. Good tip? (0) Great place to visit, four season of the year. Go in the summer, hit up the largest fresh water beach in the world. Go in the winter, hit up Blue Mountain for some great skiing or snowboarding (plus, great food at the bottom of the hill). Fun place to be, no matter when you're there! Good tip? (0) Allegedly the longest freshwater beach in the world, but Wasaga beach itself is a less than attractive mini Blackpool (UK). More scenic spots can be found further north, not least at Tiny where the beach is unspoilt and the views are superb. Good tip? (0) Recent Updates for Wasaga Beach
