French "savoir vivre"! Please speak french, while in Quebec City and pay with canadian dollars! (not USD...) The view over the St-Lawrence river is great from the chateau Frontenac. The old town invites you for a little "promenade". The artists in upper town do sell very nice images and when the weather is bad, have a look at the museum.

Come in july. The weather is great, there is music in the street, a lot of animation,... Nice city architecture.

A great time to visit Montreal is in September. The weather is starting to get chilly and the tourists have thinned out, leaving the beautiful city open for exploring!

Always check the weather forecast even to drive as close as Montreal!!! Snow storms in winter are amazingly fast and violent

If traveling in the winter, definately consider buying weather proof boots and a jacket. Most non-weather resitant boots will let melting snow seep through and freeze your feet. can be purchased at any sport shop
