Travel Tips from people who've been to Saskatoon
Make sure that you plan a trip to Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump Interpretive Centre, it's on highway 785 18km northwest of Fort MacLeod. The view from the cliff is breathtaking and the centre also offers tipi camping and hands-on educational workshops in facets of Native American life, such as making moccasins, drums, etc. Each year the centre hosts a number of special events and native festivals known throughout the world for their color, energy and authenticity, including a special Christmas festival called Heritage Through My Hands, which brings together native artists and craftspeople who display a wide variety of jewelry, clothing, art and crafts.
Whether in Canada for winter or summer, this is a brilliant attraction to add to the 'must-see' list.
Enjoy!
Good tip? (0) Don't freak out when you buy something with American money and you get back more then you paid in Canadian money. Try to spend all you money before leaving because , you wont get back as much when you go to trade it in Good tip? (0) Not much to do here. The University of Saskatchewan has the only synchrotron in Canada, known as the Canadian Light Source. The last time I visited was 2000, when they just started the construction. Good tip?
