Cayman Islands

The Cayman Islands, comprising Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman, are three islands formed by large coral heads. Not surprisingly then, this area is considered to have some of the top scuba diving and snorkeling in the world. At Stingray City, you will have the unique experience of swimming in shallow waters or feeding dozens of Stingrays. Alternatively, on Little Cayman, the Bloody Wall starts at 18ft and plunges down 1200ft, creating a showcase of colourful coral gardens, black coral trees, and tropical fish. Ashore, Seven Mile Beach is a low crescent shaped coral sand beach considered one of the best in the Caribbean. It is located just south of the capital city of George Town. Driving along, you may catch a display from one of the blowholes from one of the many caves located along the coast near Frank Sound Road. Bat caves, housing colonies of bats, Rebecca’s Cave, or Pirates Cave, are among the more popular. To the north, you can actually go to Hell, a small rock formation field created by weathered ironshore that is estimated to be over 1.5 million years old. Bird lovers should be sure to visit the Bobby Pond Nature Reserve, and hikers will love to trek along the Mastic trail. In the evening, spend the night in a laid back manner, or hop into one of the active and  lively pubs.

Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
go to stingray city. by far the best snorkeling! the stingrays are in the wild, and there's toms of them! the experience is way better than swimming with them in an aquarium.
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
seven mile beach is nice. at one end of it theres a shipwreck sticking out of the water close to shore.
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
Off the ship, you could take a cab to the nearest beach. It's worth to go to the beach. The sand is very whaite and water is not that salty.
George Town, Cayman Islands
Rum cake fills the streets, Caribbean rythmes fill the air, and offshore is one of the many "stingray cities" where rays fill the water, and you can pet them freely, so long as you're not Steve Irwin.
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
Definately take a boat out to Stingray City; you'll get to swim with THOUSANDS of stingray in 3ft water about 2 miles off the coast. Truly Fascinating. 7 Mile Beach is the "nice beach" but also by far the most expensive to stay at. If you can afford it, the Hyatt Regency and Ritz Carlton are two great places to stay. If your on a budget, thats fine too, but you won't be right on the beach.

diving in Cayman croc, hanging at the beach

don't forget that not far from the most popular beach (7 miles beach) is a superb butterfly farm...great for pictures also
George Town, Cayman Islands
Go to stingray alley, 6 miles out in the carribean ocean sits a sandbar, where stingrays up to 7feet across come to you for a bit of petting!

Visit the turtle breeding farm, you can try a turtle burger if you want. Visit Hell (so named because of the ironshore landscape) and get a unique postal stamp! Also visit the seven mile beach it's georgous.

We stay at Cobalt Coast Resort for the diving. The resort is BEAUTIFUL and you will find no better host than owner Ari. We've stayed at CCR for at least three visits and on these visits, Ari has taken us to the medical clinic when our son Ben got an ear infection, driven us past Hell, bought pool toys for our son, bought a kite for our son, and taken our extended family into town to visit the turtle farm. Rooms have AC and TV (important when traveling with the youngsters!). Good reliable internet connection. Resort has a pool, iron-shore (dead coral) beach, long pier, small sandy area for sun-bathing. Summer has a great introduce-kids-to-water program. Resort also has a dog (Mojo) and cat (Ginger) and a bazillion hermit crabs to pick up and chase. Easy resort to get to (hop from Houston is about 2 hours). Plenty of diving: 2 boat dives each morning to beautiful finger reefs. Shore diving available but there is a long swim out to get past the iron shore. Resort is a little out of the way, but about a 7 to 10 minute drive away from 7-mile beach so rent a car if you want to do more than dive. Menu is limited: it has seven items on it but that's it. It doesn't rotate. Chef is willing to customize (we were able to easily get food Ben would eat). US dollar is accepted tho exchange rate is set so that the Cayman dollar is worth a quarter more than a US dollar so it's expensive. Everyone speaks English.
George Town, Cayman Islands
We visited here while on a cruise and thoroughly enjoyed it. If you too are cruising and have a day on Grand Cayman, rent a car! You will have more freedom to see the island and see what you want. It was a blast to drive there and the scenery is gorgeous. Seven mile beach is one of the two most beautiful I've ever seen.

Buy some spices! A big jar of Saffron costs only 3 dollars!!
George Town, Cayman Islands
The reef drops off a thousand feet just twenty yards from shoreline.
Hell, Cayman Islands
A small town in Cayman Island with lava formations probably contributing to its name. I tried to get the local post office to stamp my passport, but they wouldn't. It would have been nice to prove that I'd been to hell and back...
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
Wonderful island paradise with a touch of old England. Visit the Turtle sanctury where they rear turtles and release them back into the wild. You must visit Hell and send a franced post card.
Hell, Cayman Islands
Take plenty of postcards to the post office and don't miss the strange landscape from which the city derived its name.
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
Don't pass up stingray city. Remember that if you get some squid smeared on you the stingray will not know that you are not edible until it finds that it cannot swallow you in one gulp.
Cayman Brac, Cayman Islands
About 99% of all visitors to Cayman Brac come for one reason and one reason only; the excellent scuba diving. The Cayman Islands are well known for the murky off-shore banking and for the wonderful coral reefs. Cayman Brac has no shady bank offices, but it has coral reefs to suit most people. For the unlucky non-diving partner, Cayman Brac in all honesty does not have a whole lot to offer by way of sights. There is a small hill called “The Bluff” with a few birds and there is a small “swamp”. Instead, non-diving partners will most probably end up in one of the spas that now seem to be a standard outfit in all hotels on the island. However, for the hard-core diver I would recommend the even smaller sister island Little Cayman, even further away from Grand Cayman. There is even less to do on Little Cayman, but the diving is also a whole lot better. The dive centres on Cayman Brac have tried to spice up the diving by adding artificial reefs (wrecks). The first bigger one was a Soviet-built warship bought from Cuba. The sinking included a member of the Costeau-family staying onboard while the ship sank. Unfortunately, the ship did not end up exactly where planned. In addition, the ship was built from aluminium and the combination salt water, sand and aluminium caused galvanization. The ship was later broken in a storm.

Bloody Bay Wall! Greatest, most pristine coral wall in this hemisphere.

Do not take a taxi in Grand Caymen. The local buses, which are actually medium sized vans, cost only $2.50 to ride as long as you want. The taxis will cost you up to $50! You will be on the bus with the locals, but we found many friendly people by riding the bus. The bus depot is to the right of the main library in the square one block north of the dock. You will see a sign proclaiming the $2.50 price.
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
On the northwest part of the island, you will find a very small town called Hell. It is a great tourist trap with great little souveniers. The limestone formations in the area have left a craggy, gnarled landscape of rock which the locals call Hell. The Devil's Hideout is run by a very funny older gentleman who dresses like the Devil. You will have many picture opportunites here. They have a post office, a few shops, and a bar. Don't forget to send postcards to everyone you know from Hell!
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
This place ROCKED! Beautiful crystal blue waters, friendly locals, shopping was cheap. If I could disappear and go somewhere to live, IT WOULD BE THERE

You've got to go Sea Trekking!!! It's beautiful w/ loads of colorful fish sea creatures. Water is warm the perfect turquoise! Also, if u have time, rent a scooter to see more of the island.
George Town, Cayman Islands
Take a charter out to Stingray Island. Feeding the rays (yes, they still had their stingers) was a memorable experience. The island itself is very commercialized and expensive. Find a beach and enjoy clear water.
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
If you are traveling to the Grand Caymans there is a lot to do. One of the must see things is Stingray City. They take you out on a boat and give you snorkel gear and then you jump in the shallow sand bar and hang out with the sting rays. There are tons of them. You can pet them, swim with them, and even get your picture with them. Oh and don't worry they are used to people.
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
pretty island :) :) :)
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
Did some wonderful scuba diving here. Stingray City is very cool - you can pet the stingrays like puppies!
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
i recommend you check out the atlantis submarine tour
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
Great scuba diving, high-end shopping, and more. A lot of famous, wealthy people have houses on the island, which tells you that this is not your average Caribbean island. There are plently of nice restaurants and some nightlife, but the main appeal has to be the simple beauty of its beaches and turquoise waters.
Hell, Cayman Islands
Not much to look at in Hell... worth it just to say you've been to Hell and back, but the sea turtles are worth the trip nearby

Stay on the beach and tan, Grand Caymen is an EXPENSIVE place to visit! But the beaches are beautiful beyond compare!

Cayman Islands is a place where u have lots off stuff to do,but it's a small Island, so a day was enough for us to see almost the whole Island. But it was really pretty!!
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
For excellent sushi with a Caribbean flair, try Yoshi Sushi in West Bay (be sure to make reservation for it is very popular). Although they don't have an ocean view you forget that when you step in and have some really great, superfresh, local sushi.
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
For nice, fresh seafood served with uncomparable ocean view, try The Reef at the Seven Mile Beach. On Wednesdays you can continue the party downstairs where they have an outdoors bar and dance floor. Everyone is there (as there is not so much to do at the Caymans...)
George Town, Cayman Islands
Rent a scooter or car, Driving is on the left side of the road but safer and relatively organized for the Caribbean.
George Town, Cayman Islands
Georgetown is on Grand Caymen, which is technically the British West Indies. The exchange rate is about equal and most places take American currency.
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
Watch out for the "street callers" they get paid to stand outside and convince people to go in the shots. It was really annoying
George Town, Cayman Islands
Because it's a such a small island, it has its share of bad neighborhoods. Avoid these or you may not find your way out!
Hell, Cayman Islands
Hell is a very fun and interesting place
Half Moon Bay, Cayman Islands
locals are great.. Go swimming at Sting Ray island.. It is the coolest thing I have ever done!
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
MUST hit Stingray City for experience of a Lifetime-- swimming with the Rays!!! NO danger, too much fun!! Only complaint is it doesn't last long enough!

Rent a condo - more relaxing and more economical than hotels.
