Chad Dos and Don'ts
Travel Tips for Dos and Donts in ChadAdre, Central Chad, Chad What can one say about Adre.... far-flung border crossing, rebels, local spooks wearing fake gold sunglasses and watches.... back in '04 it was crossable when I did it from Sudan, but now, near impossible from the Darfur side, as a khawaga. Good tip?
Good tip? (0) N'Djamena, Central Chad, Chad No much to do so when you come here we will meet sooner or latter. The places I will recommend you to visit are the Carnivore on Charles de Gaulle road, The pool of Novotel and the Chinese restaurant buffet on sundays also in front of Novotel, after that all the locations you will eat are the Bistros around the town. Sighing is not advisable, taking pictures is forbidden and you can get into serious troubles. Tourism is not the word you will use to come here, but work, and humanitarian relief id the daily tonic for all expatriates and even locals as them remain to be the main source of income. The beauty of the place resides in the people living here, most of them good hearted and tired of war and poverty. The positive attitude in many of them reminds you the strength of human spirit.
