Santiago

City is covered in smog during Chile's winter months so not so attractive.

We experienced Santiago as a wonderful city in the spring. Nice restaurants, shops, cafes, streets, sights, people and feeling...
I thought it was one of the cities I would come back!

Regular city. Watchout for the air pollution!!! Move on to other better cities in Chile.

Santiago is the capital of Chile. Great place, very clean. Santiago is in the foot of the Cordilheira dos Andes.

Smog smog smog.. noise noise noise

Public transportation in Santiago is really well organized.
You cannot pay in cash in the transportation but you can buy a Redline-Refill-Card (fill it at the stations) and use it for metro and busses.
(2007: Card = 1'110 Pesos + at least 800 Pesos loading). You can use the same card for more than 1 person. Per charge per person = 380 Pesos.

When you take a cofee there, you are served by beautiful ladies in lingerie ... but don't take them for what they are not ! Keep your hands in your pockets !!!

Go to Isla Negra and visit the house of Pablo Neruda
