Public transportation in Santiago is really well organized.
You cannot pay in cash in the transportation but you can buy a Redline-Refill-Card (fill it at the stations) and use it for metro and busses.
(2007: Card = 1'110 Pesos + at least 800 Pesos loading). You can use the same card for more than 1 person. Per charge per person = 380 Pesos.
