Face Bar Building 4, 118 Rui Jin Er Road
Ruijin Guesthouse
Shanghai 200020

Phone: +86 21 6472 5222

Neighborhood : Luwan District/ Xintiandi Relax amid sandalwood incense: Located on the ground floor of Building 4 of the Ruijin Guest House, the posh and opulent Face Bar attracts Shanghai's beautiful people. The huge wooden faces lining the walls of this atmospheric establishment give the bar its name. Take a seat at the antique Chinese tables, or recline on the opium beds and sample the numerous, decadent alcoholic creations. For the teetotaler, the non-alcoholic lemonades are homemade and delicious. The wine list changes every few months. Happy hour is from 5:30pm until 7:30pm.

Shanghai is the largest city I have been too. The city centre feels closed in and dirty but there are few people about, until you are in one of the big squares. The lights are incredible and the horns blaring and cops standing on the roads yell if you out a step wrong. Definitely no jay walking here. The pearl tower looks impressive and the river is not what water should look like. A place to visit with friends.

Enjoy the park at People's Square . Their malls are HUGE. Reminds me of Manhattan. LOL.

Qibao Culture
Shanghai, Shanghai Province, China
A fantastic city for clubs, bars and nightlife.
Nothing too seedy and very minor underground scene.
Check out Laris and Attica, both near The Bund for fine cuisine, sumptuous drinking, dirty dancing and outstanding views. Nanjing Road at night is NOT to be missed.
Skip Xintiandi unless you're just starved for Euro-culture.
Everything there is over-priced and European.

Stop in at the House of Jazz and Blues at Maoming Lu for great live entertainment. The after-hours joint is JZ. (Just follow the HOBJ crowd).

The 20th Shanghai Peach Blossom Festival will be held in Chengbei Peach Orchard in Nanhui District from March 26th to April 14th, 2010 . The festival will take place in Peach Blossom Village , a small beautiful village surrounded by peach plantations which cover an area of tens of thousands of acres in Shanghai suburbs.
Originally named Nanhui Peach Blossom Festival , the peach blossom festival was first held by Nanhui in 1991 and became an annual festival of Shanghai since then. It was renamed Shanghai Peach Blossom Festival in 2002 for increasing popularity among tourists at home or from overseas.
In China, people have a special love for peaches and peach blossom. The peach blossom, with its pleasant flowers, symbolizes life, growth and prosperity. The flowers, in a visual hierarchy due to the ascending or descending of colors, form a rosy sea. It is regarded as the most auspicious of all plants. The peach, in Chinese culture, is a symbol of long life and one of the strongest defenses against evil.
Featuring a mixed architectural style of Chinese ancient buildings , Peach Blossom Village offers not only picturesque scenery but also enjoyable cultural funs to visitors during Shanghai Peach Blossom Festival. The elegant peace leaves dance , funny pig sports meeting (pig race, pig hurdling, pig diving), and Chinese folk presentations have won seas of applause from visitors. Delicious local specialties, delicate craft works, beautiful scenic sights, and ancient peach trees all add charms of the festival.
Coincide with Shanghai World Expo , Shanghai Peach Blossom Festival provides such an excellent chance that tourists could visit the grand Shanghai Expo and enjoy enchanting natural views, real rural lifestyles and cultural highlights at Peach Blossom Village in Nanhui.

Qibao Arts & Recreation
Shanghai, Shanghai Province, China
We stayed in the dorm accomodation in the Music University in the French Quarter. It was a really great location and the cheapest sleep we could find. Plus, dorms are 2 beds in 1 room so if you aren't travelling alone, you have the room to yourself! Also, stay away from the really sweet girls who speak english and compliment you and say want to come to this tea house? We did not go with them, but later found out that if we had we would have been charged a very large amount of money for the privelage.

For a unique experience, take the magnetic levetation train from Pudong to the airport. This is about a 10-15 minute taxi ride from Grand Hyatt, St. Regis or Shangri-La and the train itself takes but 8 minutes to the airport once you hit the 400 km per hour top speed. Fun.

get yourself a Shanghai Public Transportation Card (costs 30 RNB) which you can top up at most metro stations in Shanghai. It's a lot more convenient as you don't need to buy a single ticket each time you use public transport. It also works on buses and taxis

If you're on your own in Shanghai, don't forget to ask the hotel front desk to write down your destination in Chinese to show the cab driver since they don't understand English. Always bring your hotel card so you can show the cab driver where to bring you back.
