Walking around Bund, Yuyuan Garden, Financial Center is wonderful. Both old and new architectural awaits you. Not reckon to shop in boutique, rather go to street..

nice buildings.....big city. not so much Chinese stuff. Need to try local restaurants, especially cheap - very interesting experience
