The festival will take place in Peach Blossom Village , a small beautiful village surrounded by peach plantations which cover an area of tens of thousands of acres in Shanghai suburbs. Originally named Nanhui Peach Blossom Festival , the peach blossom festival was first held by Nanhui in 1991 and became an annual festival of Shanghai since then. It was renamed Shanghai Peach Blossom Festival in 2002 for increasing popularity among tourists at home or from overseas. In China, people have a special love for peaches and peach blossom. The peach blossom, with its pleasant flowers, symbolizes life, growth and prosperity. The flowers, in a visual hierarchy due to the ascending or descending of colors, form a rosy sea.
