04541Go to Leshan to see the Great Buddha, it is an astonishing monument to see and is directly on the river. You can reach Leshan easily as a day-trip from Chengdu (it's not worthy to stay in Leshan for the night), it takes 2 hours by bus.

0085Home to the largest standing Buddha in the world. Very spectacular sight. Go early in the morning no matter the time of year, it will always be packed by noon. Hostels for about 100miles around should easily be able to book a trip here.
