Beijing, Beijing Province, China
You gotta see the Forbidden City and venture out to see the Great Wall. It might be better now, but when I was there 5 years ago nobody spoke any English and everyone wanted to take pictures of us cause we looked so different. It can be a bit off putting at the start but you find out that the locals are really friendly. I recoomend finding an English speaking local tour guide and get them to introduce you to people. After that it's great!
Kunming, Yunnan Province, China
Oh my God, you have never seen anything as amazing as the Kunming Stone Forest. Just incredible. Bear in mind that it is a high altitude place, so keep drinking your water and lay off the caffeine and alcohol.

Head north to xu ling snow mountain (da yi) for some skiing in winter or horse mountian riding, if you are lucky you might see a panda. take a map with you when you catch a taxi, even if you dont know where you are going the taxi driver will think you do and not take you for a ride
Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China
Suzhou is, contrary to popular belief, not as beautiful as Hangzhou. Still, the city certainly has its charm. Possessed of a metropolitan spirit, you can find a diverse selection of cuisine in the city. Take a trip down to the lake someday to enjoy the scenery, the weather, and a genuine German Beer at the nearby brewery. That building squats amidst the natural landscape, a giant black steel edifice screaming mystery. I was happy to have investigated. There are many beggars in Suzhou, how you deal with these people is entirely up to you, but do not let traveler's guilt motivate you to excessive displays of charity.

Don't stick your hand out to everything someone hands you, often are times when they expect you to pay and won't take the item back from you.
