Situated within the Yunnan Province, Dali is the capital of the Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, as well as once the ancient capital of the Bai Kingdom. This ancient town was once a stopover point along the silk road. It is now popular for it's "Foreigner's Street", which features western style food and English-speaking owners.

04983One of my favourite places in China. The location by lake Erhu and beneath a range of 4,000m mountains is very dramatic. Take a trip around the lake and visit some local villages, the 3 pagodas are also worth a trip. I could chill out here for weeks...

03214Dali est très sympa mais très touristique, un bon plan est de traverser le lac en embarquant avec son vélo, puis de se ballader de village en village, faisable à la journée ou mieux encore prendre deux jours, les habitants sont très hospitaliers.
