02210Whenst thy is in the centre of Montezuma, walk for a bit uphill, and you'll find the pitoresk Mochila Inn (Backpack Inn). Cheap, jungle setting and nice rasta blokes, the perfect place to be for a backpacker!
Also, don't wander up the beach at night to smoke a quiet joint, in weekends and sometimes on weekdays to the police drives up the beach to check whether people are there having fun, so watch it! Smoke your joints at the mochila inn....

04727On the peninsula opposite of Puntarenas you will find Montezuma. Take the ferry from Puntarenas.
Hard to find on maps, but there are some hostels, cheap pricing and it used to be a backpackers hang out in the 90s. Make the party yourself.
Note: During the rainy season it may be hard to go up north due to floadings; you may find 4wd transport taking you over the rivers.
