Central Croatia People & Culture
Zagreb, Central Croatia, Croatia OK...Museum freaks...this is THE place to go...ofcourse for the rest of us to. I LOVED MY VISIT TO ZAGREB. The people, City, atmosphere, colouring, archiceture, the many outside Cafes and the food. GREAT Great great City to observe and even relax. You must see and do: Get a tram card at the news-kiosks and head for the City center Trg Bana Jelacica. St. Stephens Cathedral, Archbishops Palace, Kamenita Vrata (Stone Gate), Sabor (Parliment), Banski Dvori (Presidents palace), OK and all the museums.....you cannot miss them. Make sure to do your shopping in Ilica road and get a nice seat in a cafe for a great Cappuchino with a cake and just observe the people around you. Enjoy the great city of Zagreb....I will be going back. Good tip? (0) Prelog, Central Croatia, Croatia Prelog is small city near my home, is quiet place, near river Drava, with god potential for Bicycle riders, walking enthusiasts and so, nice view along Drava and lakes by river. With god restaurants and few small hotels, i think most people would like it Is also known as place of international SpeedWay races http://www.prelog.hr/pocetna.html Good tip? (0) Varazdin, Central Croatia, Croatia when in Varazdin don'tr talk to loud couse people there are quite different then in Dalmatia ;)) Good tip? (0) Zagreb, Central Croatia, Croatia Not very impressive and can be seen in a day or two at the most but, it gives you a better picture of Croatian culture. Don't miss the Museum of Naive Art . Good tip? (0) Zagreb, Central Croatia, Croatia Zagreb is the capital and the largest city of Croatia. Zagreb is the cultural, scientific, economic and governmental center of the ... Zagreb is an old Central European city. It is located on the intersection of several important routes beetwen the Adriatic coast and Central Europe. Zagreb offers its guests the Baroque feel of the Upper town, picturesque open-air markets, various kinds of shops and delicious local cuisine. The Day of the City of Zagreb on the november 16 th is celebrated every year with special festivities, especially on the Jurun lake near the southwestern part of the city. Good tip? (0) Zagreb, Central Croatia, Croatia Zagreb is my home city, so I can tell only best about it. Here, you can do everything: there are interesting museum and sights, beautiful nature in the city center (park Zrinjevac, but there is also Maksimir, in which you feel like you are in a forest, and it's only 15 minutes with a car or a tram from the centre...), interesting culture events (cest is d'best), and everything you want. Food are fabulos, there are some really good hotels, lots of hospitals. If you are in Zagreb during summer, take clothes like you are going in Africa and an umbrella, and if you go in Zagreb during winer, tke warm clothes. And, of course, you have to go to Millenuim to try the best ice-cream ever! Good tip? (0) Zagreb, Central Croatia, Croatia Beautiful city! Many call it the "Gem of the Balkans". Rarely can you find so many examples of cultural and historical significance from different periods in such a small region, and Zagreb is my favorite of all. The architecture of this Capital is simply breath taking. Good tip? (0) Varazdin, Central Croatia, Croatia Don't expect too much of the night life, unless you're accompanied by friends... Avoid club Majestic :) Definetly visit Morgan's, good house music, and beneath it is a rock bar, whith a good taste in rock music :) Good tip? (0) Zagreb, Central Croatia, Croatia This is Zagreb from student perspective: cheap, great for nightlife, clubs are working until 4 or 5. Different kind of music in every club, from Serbian to Indian :) Hostels are cheap. Zagreb is not to big city as London or Paris, but it has a lot to offer ;) Good tip? (0) Zagreb, Central Croatia, Croatia The only parts of this place worth visiting are donji grad and gornji grad, that's lower and upper town if you will. Upper town is really beautiful, looks like Prague. Visit the main square, the train station and nearby square, Zrinjevac parks near the train station, the cathedral and all of upper town, especially the Tkalciceva street which begins at the main square, it's full of pubs and restaurants. You can also go hiking on Madvednica, the mountain overlooking the city, and visit Medvedgrad, an medieval castle on the slopes of the mountain. Zagreb is not worth more than 2 days of your time. Good tip? (0) Slunj, Central Croatia, Croatia The Canyon park Vrela Mrežnice iz situated in the center of a special, enchanting world, enriched by the river Mrežnica. It is our wish that this little peace of heaven be known to all travelers who seek natural paradise, true peace and serenity by the water. The Canyon park offers many water adrenalin sports such as rafting, canyoning, canuing, as well as absail and free climbing, little olympics, fishing, plus great gastronomy offers in the canyons restaurant and lodge. Good tip? (0) Zagreb, Central Croatia, Croatia Croatia happens to be one of my favorite trips yet! Beautiful country with lots of waterfalls. If you are adventurous and like outdoor sports or simply want to just chill on the beach, this is a very beautiful country to do it in. I did some climbing, bicycling, kayaking, and braved it to jump off a waterfall. The people are so friendly. English is learned in schools there although not everyone speaks it very clearly... it's still understandable in case you are lost, which I found hard to do (however, I wasn't the one driving) Good tip? (0) Zagreb, Central Croatia, Croatia The Croatian capital has lots to see by way of museums, parks and the like... but would rather suggest spending your time on the coast, Dubrovnik upwards, hopping off at as many cities there as you can... but perhaps a couple of days at Zagreb is still worth it ... for a more East European or Balkan feel to Croatia, as against the Mediterranean feel its coast offers... Good tip? (+3) Zagreb, Central Croatia, Croatia Go to GORNJI GRAD, or on the main square Trg Bana Josipa Jelačića, you'll have plenty things to see.... Good tip? (+2) Varazdin, Central Croatia, Croatia one of the most beautiful places in the whole world. do not forget to visit its unique graveyard. Good tip? (+2) Samobor, Central Croatia, Croatia gradic u okolici zagreba poznat po fasniku i kremsnitama, mirno je i jako je lijepo :) pravo mjesto za imati vikendicu ;) Good tip?
