Dubrovnik Transportation
Travel Tips for Transportation in DubrovnikDubrovnik, Dalmatia Region, Croatia Stay in a sobe (guesthouse) to get to know the locals better as you will probably be sharing a suite with the renter's grandmother. From your sobe walk into the Old city via the road that runs along the sea. There are great views and awesome swimming/diving spots off the cliffs. On the same road you will find an outdoor theatre that shows late night movies with English subtitles - a great night out if you're sharing it with a friend or two. In the old city, be careful not to slip on the streets as they are all made of polished white marble!! Grab yourself a gellato (arguably better than you would find in Italy) and walk the enormous wall surrounding the city - you will find some stunning views guaranteed. After you finish your walk, try your hand at jumping on the small white marble figure on the side of the wall (you'll know what I'm talking about when you get there). The point is to jump on it and try to rotate without falling off. Take your time enjoying this city. In my opinion, it is the most beautiful and kept together old quarter in all Europe. Good tip? (0) Dubrovnik, Dalmatia Region, Croatia You should arrive by boat to have a first amazing impression of the town and his fortress Good tip? (0) Dubrovnik, Dalmatia Region, Croatia Old dubrovnik castle, which is just next to the biggest yacht pier is a must see place ! Its over (afair) 500 years old, but was recently renovated and looks fabolous, I had my yaw on the floor. Inside the castle you can find many luxury brands, souvenir shops, cafees, bars etc. All of them looks really stylish and have similar, traditional croatian look. When visiting this spot in the evening you can run across many young male/females looking for date (it's hard to describe it in words, but they are literally everywhere). Dont bring your car, parking there might drive you crazy, as it takes lots of time. Take a cab or rent a scooter which I would suggest as it's a hilly city with lots of downhills and hillocks and makes two wheels experience a real fun ! Visit one of the bakeries on the hills and wait for fresh buns prepared while you wait in line. Great smell :) :) Stay away from seaport, cuz its really stinks like a dead fish. Good tip? (0) Dubrovnik, Dalmatia Region, Croatia What a fabulous little jewel on the Adriatic ... enter its gates and climb up the wall, then walk along the walls for a great view on the city below ... of course, you can sit in the city in many places with scenic beautiful views of the sea ... a great activity here as you feast on some fine food here ....but don't make Dubrovnik your only stop on the Croatian coast as some tourists do ... start from here and ferry on upwards to take in the delights of other coastal spots like Korcula, Split, Hvar, etc... Good tip? (0) Dubrovnik, Dalmatia Region, Croatia It's a verry nice, old and intresting city. Please bring water, it can be more then 40degreas. There's a fontain on the market. There's no interaction with locals, i think nobody lives there for real. Go and have a drink on the side of the city, then you can jumb strait from the terras into the water! Verry nice! Good tip?
