The people are friendly, the weather is usually great and the architecture is cool. You can take a boat out to Elphite Islands that are very pretty and if you fancy swimming or mountain biking on the Islands it there for you to do. Local beers and wines are quite tasty too!! Good tip? (+2) Opatija, Istria Region, Croatia Opatija is a popular summer and winter resort, with average temperatures of 10°C in winter , and 25°C in summer . Opatija is surrounded by beautiful woods of bay laurel . The whole sea-coast to the north and south of Opatija is rocky and picturesque, and contains several smaller winter resorts. Good tip? (+1) Hvar, Dalmatia Region, Croatia Hvar a town and a port on the south western coast of the island of Hvar; lies in a cove protected by the Pakleni Islands in the south. Main attractions are a pleasant climate, a lot of sunshine, natural be-auties, sports and recreational opportunities + wild night life. You must not forget to visit the Pakleni Islands, a small archipelago in front of a Hvar port where you can enjoy the sun and sea in one of the solitary, wooded coves. More you can enjoy in offer of excellent fish specialities with exquisite local wines (red red wine)...;))) Good tip? (0) Split, Dalmatia Region, Croatia Beautiful city on the coast, best time to visit: Sept - it's still quite warm and you can enjoy nice weather and the sea, but there's not as many tourists! Good tip? (0) Ilok, Slavonia Region, Croatia Ilok is famous for his old (500 years) cellars, in witch people stored their wines. Most of cellars are carved in rock, and they provide always constant temperature between 9-11 degrees C. World famous wines from south America are made by (mosty) Croatian emigrants so, in Ilok u can taste true joy of good wine for low price. Also some home made snaps can be found also.
