Its easy to see why Shaw described Dubrovnik the Pearl of the Adriatic. It is a beautiful and romantic destination for all you love birds out there!! The old town is amazing, the city walls are great and well worth walking at least once. If you like seafood you'll love Dubrovnik, you can also find an authentic Bosian restaurant that serves up mean kebabs. The people are friendly, the weather is usually great and the architecture is cool. You can take a boat out to Elphite Islands that are very pretty and if you fancy swimming or mountain biking on the Islands it there for you to do. Local beers and wines are quite tasty too!!

Apart from its outstanding natural beauties and well-preserved cultural and historical heritage, Dubrovnik also offers high-quality visitor opportunities. Go swimming near the musical steps and watch the boats come in from visiting the Koronati Islands. Take a ride with the boat man. Make sure that you shop around for a boating trip to the Koronati Islands - there are many companies, and some jam cram people on their boats which dosen't make for the most enjoyable day. I recommend a boat that looks in shape and form like a pirate ship. This particular ship has two blue eyes at the bow and has a lower seating capacity than many others. Drink as much wine as you like and eat as much as they can feed you, then get chatty with the crew - you'll have a blast.

Porec, Istria Region, Croatia
There are some awesome burger bars in Porec. The burgers are so much nicer than the cheap tacky crap you get in McDonalds and the like. The two I'd recommend are the stall on the Waterfront (with the chef/waitress who seems only to speak German, but still makes an awesome burger) and the one near the musical instrument shop in the backstreets. I can't remember any names though, so sorry.

When you are in this gorgeous sea city, try the local seafood specialties - they are to die for. The best is the grilled fish, and in particular rainbow trout. It will melt on your tounge and you will never look at fish the same way again.

Food in Croatia
Zagreb, Central Croatia, Croatia
The Croatian capital has lots to see by way of museums, parks and the like... but would rather suggest spending your time on the coast, Dubrovnik upwards, hopping off at as many cities there as you can... but perhaps a couple of days at Zagreb is still worth it ... for a more East European or Balkan feel to Croatia, as against the Mediterranean feel its coast offers...
