Trinidad, Central Cuba, Cuba
While firmly on the tourist route, the feel of the town is very relaxed as locals are very welcoming to tourists. I got the impression that they genuinely like tourists rather than just their money (unlike places like Vinales).

Practise your salsa moves at Casa de la Musica and Casa de la Trova which are very close to each other. Some locals may approach you to offer private lessons: go ahead, they're fun!

In Varadero don't hesitate to take local transportation instead of your hotels bus service like a coconut cab. It's way more fun and supports the locals too.
