The climate is hot and humide but perfectly bearable.June till November is the hurricane season.Best to go is December till April.It will be raining also during this period but short rains that will stop as fast as they begun.The low season in rains is also the high season in priceing.Everything like accomodations is more expensive but still prices are much lower than in Europe.
