Selain T'appi is situated in the destination of Cyprus. As to the administrative division, Selain T'appi belongs to Nicosia . Several major tourist attractions can be mentioned in the town’s surroundings, like Akamas National Park about 28 km, Kykko monastery about 22 km, Pohoří Trodos, about 34 km.
The Akamas National Park is located on Akamas peninsula in the northeast of Cyprus. Local countryside is considered the most beautiful on Cyprus. 600 plant species grow here, and 35 of them grow only on Cyprus. Nice seaside with crystal clear water is a paradise for divers. Lots of touristic paths are marked in the park. Visitors can find marvelous natural sceneries and beautiful places with fantastic view on the surrounding areas. In local forests we can find 168 bird species, 12 mammal species and also 20 insect species. The Avgas ridge is an oftenly visited spot of the park. It is surrounded by mountains, where mountain climbers can also find nice marked tracks. A water reservoir called Aphrodita's bath is definitely an interesting place, mentioned in many legends. According to one of them, Aphrodite used to bath there after her love affairs.
Kykko monastery is the wealthiest and most widely known monastery on Cyprus. It is situated in the western part of Troodos mountains, north from the town Milikouri. The monastery was found around 1100 and is built in Byzantine style. The surrounding lands also belong to the monastery. Valuable collections of icons is in the monastery. The most precious is the icon of Our Lady, claimed to be painted by St.Lucas. This is one of the last three preserved icons. The other icons come from russian orthodox churches.
Trodos Mountains is the highest peak, Mt. Olympus, reaching a height of almost three kilometers above sea level. In the foothills there is a lot of picturesque churches, Monasteries, romantic valleys, zapadlých villages. Mountains are in comparison with European mountains completely untouched and inhabitant.
