Avoid taxicabs unless you know how much a fare should be from one place to another. Negotiate this price in advance.

Taxis will rip you off. Try get a hostel close to the centre and use the trams and metro and walk. Can get VERY hot in the summer.....be prepared. The people are quite conservative....i was wearing a very short skirt and a string top (I had leggings but it was too unexpectadly hot!) and I got alot of nasty looks which was very frustrating. Overall, beautiful city.

There are two ways how to travel safely using taxis in Prague: Find taxi stations marked with "fair price" (or something to that effect) which are being sponsored by the city town hall or just call 14014 from any phone to book your car from AAA. I find them very reliable and professional.

Easier to buy tickets at your hostel- this is the cheapest way.
