Travel Tips from people who've been to Helsingor
If you ever find yourself in Helsingor, Elsinore in Shakespeare's Hamlet, you should definately visit the Kronborg Castle, a historical castle from the 1420's. It is placed on the extreme tip of Zealand, right at the narrowest point of Oresund.
Built in a magnificent Renaissance style, it's unique in its appearance and size throughout Europe. In 1629 Kronborg was set on fire, and the majority of the castle burnt. In 1639 the Danish king Christian IV restored the castle, however only exterior has been fully restored. The interior never really got back to its earlier condition.
